NO SHOOTING!! (for now)

Image
What's up everybody. This video, there is no shooting. With how dry it's been here in Northern Idaho this season, I've decided to hold off on any more shooting videos until it greens up a little. I would hate to be the guy that starts a fire out of irresponsibility. I'm embarrassed that someone had to point it out for me to make that connection.  Check out Idaho Rifleman on YouTube to see the whole video. Let me know if there's any content you'd like to see in the mean time! See you soon! God bless,  Idaho Rifleman

.380 Ballistics

What's up everybody! Welcome back, in this video, I have a Springfield 911 .380 auto to demo.  I have been told in the past that if you're going to carry a .380, you need to carry FMJ rounds in the winter time to ensure your round penetrates heavy winter clothing. In this video, I want to test the ballistics of the .380 auto.  Since my ballistics gel still has the imprint from the 30-30 hunting ballistics video, I'll be using gallon water jugs. Let's talk about the gun. The Springfield 911 is a very nice little gun. It's a perfect size for a pocket pistol, it's light, and very comfortable. It's built on the concept of a 1911 and has alot of the same features, but it does not have the tang safety. The hammer is a very low profile design, which I see as being a problem if you carry with the hammer down, however this is improved if you carry on "hammer safe". Hammer safe is one click back which locks the slide and trigger.  The 911 does ha

People... seriously? WARNING The Idaho Department of Lands, Pend Oreille Lake is considering closing this area to ALL motorized traffic and shooting. WHY? Large amounts of GARBAGE, HUMAN WASTE and TOILET PAPER are being left at these dispersed areas. There are also problems with tree cutting, vehicles driving off of roads, and unsafe shooting activities.  IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE RECREATING HERE: - Pack out all garbage and unburried toilet paper - Bury your 💩 at least 6 inches deep - Do not cut green trees or shoot trees - Stay on established open roads  - Leave no trace Head over to the channel to see my thoughts on finding this sign while I was out driving around.  God bless,  Idaho Rifleman

Hunting Ballistics: 30-30

Image
What's up everybody!  This video is by request. This video I'll be shooting the Winchester 94, 30-30 at "hunting range". Hunting range being about 50 yards in this area.  Over this series of videos, I'll be shooting into ballistic gel to try to show the ballistic reaction of some common hunting rounds.  In this video, I'll be shooting 170gr Winchester Super X Power Point into 32 inches of ballistics gel. The ballistic gel is two 10% FBI blocks from Clear Ballistics. You've seen this rifle on the channel before, and I'm happy to have it back in my hands for this video.  See you at the range! God bless,  Idaho Rifleman

Grapefruit Ballistics

Hey everyone!! In this week's video, I'm going to do something a little different. I am going to destroy a vile creation. Grapefruit.  I am going to shoot grapefruit with several calibers to see the ballistic differences. All of these are guns you've seen on the channel before. Due to the ammo shortage, it's hard to find comparable rounds so I'll do the best I can with this demo.  Heritage Rough Rider - 22LR - 38gr American Eagle Copper JHP Heritage Rough Rider - 22Mag - 40gr CCI Copper JHP EA/A Windicator - 38spcl  - 158gr Handgun Line LRN Beretta APX Compact - 9mm - 124gr Sellier and Bellot FMJ Rock Island Armory 1911 - 45ACP - 230gr Sig Sauer Elite Performance FMJ Cimarron Pistolero - 45LC - 255gr Bitterroot Valley LRN I got these guns ready to demo so let's get to it.
